OH Voter Disenfranchisement / Elections Documentary at Cleveland Film Festival

I was able to visit the film festival a few times this weekend. What a great and cheap mini-vacation in March. American Blackout is a film that has been highly recommended. It is about the Ohio 2005 elections and voter disenfranchisement:
AMERICAN BLACKOUT at Cleveland International Film Festival...see what all the outrage is about.

"Engrossing, fast-paced, stylish... a powerful examination
of voting rights in America."

"...a provocative look at black disenfranchisement in the
2004 election."
- David Halbfinger, NY TIMES

"...a muckraking indictment of the systematic
disenfranchisement of African-American voters"
- Kenneth Turan, LA TIMES

To whom it may concern:

I'd like to make you aware of AMERICAN BLACKOUT-- a "powerful" and "provocative" feature-length documentary on voter disenfranchisement. The film was recently named Best Documentary at the Cinequest Film Festival and awarded a
Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival '06. (Please see additional information below.)

With the plight of 2004 Ohio voters at the heart of the film's story, we feel that you can play a critical role in ensuring that their stories are heard.

Please join us next week for screenings of AMERICAN BLACKOUT at the Cleveland International Film Festival:

March 25, 2006 : 7:15 pm, Tower City Cinemas
March 26, 2006 : 5:00 pm, Tower City Cinemas

Ticket information available at: www.clevelandfilm.org

This film is uniquely poised to mobilize voters and promote integrity in our electoral process in '06 and election years to come. We look forward to seeing you then and exploring with you the many ways AMERICAN BLACKOUT can be utilized to educate and mobilize voters in advance of the fall elections.

So, if you have a chance to make it to the film festival this week - this looks like a must see.
